Rooted in Legacy.

Building the Future.

I’m Chéla Wallace - a nationally recognized STEM education strategist, equity leader, and founder of Solace Rose Innovation Academy.

For nearly two decades, I’ve led classrooms, shaped policy, and designed visionary school models grounded in identity, healing, and innovation.

Every decision I make is driven by one purpose: to create learning environments that affirm brilliance and build bold futures for girls who’ve been too often underestimated.

Why I Do This Work

  • Legacy

My grandmother’s name was Rosetta, known lovingly as Rose. She passed when I was just three, but her strength has quietly fueled mine ever since. I believe our ancestors leave us clues, and I followed mine straight to the intersection of chemistry, justice, and purpose.

  • Leadership

I’ve built robotics programs in NYC, advised governments in West Africa, and led $1.7 million STEM strategies across districts. But the real win? Seeing young girls believe in their brilliance.

Solace Rose Innovation Academy

What I’m Building

Solace Rose is more than a school. It’s a sanctuary for brilliance. A year-round K–8 charter school for girls launching in Greensboro, North Carolina — where STEAM meets social justice, and joy meets rigor.

Opening 2028

Solace Rose Innovation Academy is not just rethinking education; it’s creating an entirely new model where students thrive, lead, and grow into bold innovators of tomorrow. Our approach goes beyond academics — it’s about empowering young girls to believe in their brilliance, embrace their identities, and become leaders who will shape the future.

Let’s Work Together

Solace Rose Innovation Academy is more than a school—it’s a bold invitation to reimagine what’s possible for girls in Guilford County and beyond.

We’re actively building a coalition of changemakers who believe that education should be healing, transformative, and rooted in purpose. If that sounds like you—we want to hear from you.

We’re seeking:

  • Founding Board Members who see education as a tool for liberation and legacy

  • Community and College Partners ready to co-create purposeful pathways for girls

  • Investors and Grant Funders who believe in empowering the next generation of leaders

  • Families and Parents who want more for their daughters—more brilliance, more belonging, more boldness

Let’s build it together.
